Google New Pixel 6a Receives Android 13 Beta

Google Pixel 6a gets Android 13 beta

Google has recently released am android 13 beta OS update for Pixel 6a. The pixel 6a just hit the markets barely a week ago. We are talking about the Android 13 Beta 4.1, which is the latest Android 13 beta already available for other eligible Pixel devices.

The Android 13 Beta 4.1 is the first Android 13 beta build for the Pixel 6a, which, according to the official changelog, comes with a few bug fixes in addition to the July 2022 security patch.

However, the firmware actually comes with the June 2022 security patch level, which is rather suprising but I’m sure Google has some magic up their sleeves

When you buy the Google Pixel 6a, you are greeted with the Android 12 OS version out of box, if you don’t mind waiting for the stable version of the Android 13, then you can go for it.

7 Applications That Will Make You A Successful Student

7 Applications That Will Make You A Successful Student; In total, the number of people that own a smart and feature phone is 7.26 Billion, making up 91.16% of the world’s population. What this simply means is the mobile phone is the single most captivating technology that the human race had ever encountered after electricity.

In this post, we will be looking at applications that can help students (since Student Village is all about students first) become better. Feel free to install these applications if you have extra space on your phone.

RefME – Available for students on Android/iOS/Web, Free

This app uses your phone’s camera to scan a book’s barcode and create a citation formatted in MLA, Chicago, or whatever format you want to use for your school project. Saves you a lot of time and it’s free and available on all platforms.

StudyBlue – Available for students on Android/iOS, Free

This app allows students to upload and create electronic flashcards and study materials to read and as well share with their friends or class group.

Dragon Dictation – iOS, Free

Sorry Android students, Dragon Diction is exclusively for students with iOS devices. With this app, you simply have to talk into it and it will convert your speech digitally. You can then paste it into other apps or send them as a text email. For Android, I think Google text to speech does the trick

Education/ Summary Of African Prose Xala By Sembene Ousmane by StudentVillage(m) : 8:54 pm On Aug 03

Summary Of African Prose Xala By Sembene Ousmane

IJMB Literature Xala By Sembene Ousmane
The book opens with a meeting with Senegalese businessmen celebrating their independence from colonialism. One of the men, El Hadji Abdou Kader Beye (“El Hadji”), invited the others to his wedding party later that day. This wedding is to be his third, earning El Hadji the traditional distinction of “captain,” a polygamist status that indicates wealth and success.

Before he goes to the house of his third wife to celebrate, however, he needs to pick up his other two wives, who live in their own villas with money-hungry children. His first wife, Adja, is a more conservative and religious woman who respects local Senegalese traditions, but his second wife, Oumi, is a more “modern” woman who admires foreign customs and the French language. Both women are extremely jealous of each other, and they are each jealous of El Hadji’s third wife.

El Hadji’s third wedding was arranged by Yay Bineta, an aunt of the bride (a relation also known as Badyen). Unable to find a husband of her own due to the fact that she was twice widowed (local traditionalists have thus marked her as a very unlucky woman, destined to claim a third victim), she manipulated El Hadji over a long period of time until he eventually was coerced into marrying her niece, N’Gone, an uneducated yet beautiful woman who otherwise would not have been able to provide for her family.

IJMB Literature Xala By Sembene Ousmane

After the party, when it is time for husband and wife to proceed to the nuptial chamber, Yay Bineta asks El Hadji to perform some traditional rituals to boost his potency. El Hadji, however, declines as he does not believe in supernatural hocus-pocus. The next morning, El Hadji confesses to the Badyen that he could not perform as expected, and word soon begins to spread of El Hadji’s Xala (meaning impotence).

Humiliated by being the talk of the entire town, El Hadji concludes that one of his other wives put a curse on him out of jealousy. He suspects that his second wife Oumi is behind the curse, but he cannot find any hard evidence. Trying to find a cure to the ailment plaguing him, he visits a range of healers and neglects his business. One of the seers discovers that someone close to him cursed him. Meanwhile, El Hadji grows more and more isolated and skittish, neglecting his family and failing to be mentally present in any of his various interactions. Eventually, El Hadji runs out of money and is unable to provide for his wives and employees.

With the help of his driver, however, he finds a healer named Sereen Mada who lifts the curse. Despite this momentary salvation, after the check he gives to Sereen Mada bounces, the healer restores the curse. Eventually, the other businessmen expel him from the Chamber of Commerce in an attempt to save their reputation, since El Hadji has defaulted on a wide variety of loans and failed to pay back the National Grain Board for some rice he had earlier purchased and resold. Forsaken by his colleagues and wives, El Hadji is eventually left even more isolated than he initially found himself when afflicted with Xala.

The likelihood of receiving a project is extremely slim when you submit a rookie application to well-known freelancing websites.

Health/ Prostrate Health For Male Students by StudentVillage(m) : 5:01 am On Sep 13

Prostrate Health For Male Students

Prostrate Health For Male Students; Your diet can have a significant impact on your health, including the health of your prostate.

You may be able to reduce your risk of prostate problems, including prostate cancer, by including healthy, prostate-friendly foods in your diet.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men, affecting one out of every eight men in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society (1Trusted Source).

Though the precise role of diet in prostate health is unknown, several hypotheses exist. Some experts believe that the Western diet’s high fat, and high sugar content contributes to increased rates of prostate cancer.

Some studies have linked a high dairy-product diet and a high total calcium intake through food and supplements to an increased risk of developing prostate cancer. More research, however, is required to confirm this link.

5 Foods that Improve Prostate Health
Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant found in certain fruits and vegetables, including tomatoes. According to some research, a high-lycopene diet may help reduce the risk of developing prostate cancer (4Trusted Source).

More research is needed to confirm a benefit, but a review of 24 studies found that men who ate more tomatoes had a lower risk of developing prostate cancer (5Trusted Source).

Lycopene has been shown to reduce cell damage and slow cancer cell production. It is an antioxidant, which means that it protects cells from damage (6Trusted Source).

Lycopene is difficult for your body to extract because it is tightly bound to the cell walls of raw tomatoes. Cooked or puréed tomato products, such as the following, may be preferable:

tomato paste
spaghetti sauce
sun-dried tomatoes
tomato juice
How to Increase Your Tomato Consumption
It is simple to incorporate more tomato-based recipes into your diet.

There are numerous healthy tomato dishes to try. Adding sun-dried or fresh tomatoes to salads, eating eggs with sliced tomatoes or salsa, and enjoying tomato-based soups are all good ways to increase your lycopene intake.

During the summer, you can buy fresh, local tomatoes to add to sandwiches and salads.

Another good option is to drink plain tomato juice every morning. Just be sure to choose a low-sodium variety.

Broccoli is a vegetable that contains a variety of complex compounds that may help some people avoid cancer.

Some studies suggest a link between the number of cruciferous vegetables you eat — which includes broccoli — and a lower risk of prostate cancer.

The reasons are unknown, but researchers believe that some phytochemicals in these vegetables, such as sulforaphane, which broccoli sprouts contain in high concentrations, selectively target and kill cancer cells while leaving normal prostate cells unaffected

Cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and kale are examples of cruciferous vegetables.

How to add more broccoli to your diet
You can add broccoli to stir-fries, soups, and salads, or simply eat it raw or steamed.

If you worry about fresh vegetables going bad, consider buying frozen broccoli so that you can cook it whenever you have the time.

Prostrate Health For Male Students

Green tea
Green tea has been used for thousands of years for its health benefits. Many studies on its effects on cancer have been conducted.

Green tea’s special compounds may lower the risk of prostate cancer by influencing tumor growth, cell death, and hormone signaling.

Green tea’s health benefits may be explained by the following compounds.

What is your resting face?

Our most common facial expression is that of rest. It is our default facial expression, a nonverbal communication transmitted through one of our most powerful body language delivery mechanisms – the face.

How do I get rid of my resting face?

Whether your date is a foodie, an outdoor enthusiast, or an art enthusiast, Nigeria has a way of instilling wanderlust in you no matter where you go or what you do. Here are some top date ideas in Nigeria to try for those special days and nights with that special someone.

Go on a picnic:

There are many picturesque places to enjoy a picnic in Nigeria, no matter where you live. The Jabi Lake is fantastic for Abuja residents; you can even take a boat ride on the lake. Oguta Lake is also located south of Abuja. Other lovely spots to unpack your hamper include Ibadan’s Agodi Gardens and University Gardens, as well as Lagos’ Freedom Park, which frequently hosts art events.

Have a karaoke date:

Nigeria is well-known for its lively nightlife and thriving music scene. Aside from drinks and cocktails, most clubs and lounges also provide karaoke services. What better way to have a good time and get to know each other’s fun side than to drink a few beers and sing your favorite songs loudly?
