Twenty journalism trainees who have undergone various courses in digital media at the High Speed Media Institute have graduated at the school’s premise at Spintex Road in Accra.

The students underwent five months of intensive media training in radio and TV presentation, photojournalism, social media management, disc jockeying, news reporting, sports presentation and DJing.

Delivering the key note address, Rev. Minister George Akwanda charged the graduates to use the skills they acqured by bringing change in their various communities and the nation.

He said as beginners they will face challenges in their delivery but that should not deter them but continue to work hard since hard work pays.
Rev. Akwanda advised them to be humble in whatever they are doing and also be guided by the ethics of the journalism profession.

Ms Annie Baiden, a graduate who did photojournalism shared her experience with Myjoyonline and said her understanding in photojournalism has deepened to a large extent she can take pictures that tell real story of the happening.

She however promised to highlight the plight of members in her community.

Another graduant Romeo Tetteh praised their lecturers for their style of teaching which made learning easy for them.

He gave an instance that he had no knowledge of the Right to Information BIll which was passed by Parliament recently .

According to him their lecturers took time explain to them how the bill will empower journalists to have access to information which was previously no access.
